FLY, Faith Lutheran Youth, is a community and space where our high school students come to ask the big questions, connect their faith with our lives, and be welcomed as they are. Through games, discussions on current topics, service to our community and around the world, FLY seeks to learn more about the love of God through Jesus Christ and see God active in the world around us.
We would love to have you be a part of this life-changing community. For more information, please email Deacon Kayla at [email protected].
Sundays | 9:45a - 10:45a FLY Forum takes place September to May on Sunday mornings in the FLY Room. During this time, FLY engages in service projects, discussions, and other hands-on activities connecting students to their faith.
FLY Nights
Wednesdays | 7p - 8:30p FLY gathers for games and a discussion on topics that help students connect their faith to the world around them. We aim to ask the bigger questions and learn how to be okay if we don't always know the answers. Our annual traditions like our Fall Flannel Fiesta, Christmas Party, and Senior Night also happens during this time. Join us as we build community and explore the complexities of God and faith in our society!
Student Leadership Team
Student Leadership Team is a team of high school students who meet throughout the year learn about leadership, discipleship, help plan FLY events, and encourage faith in others. We meet bi-weekly to dream about the future of FLY on behalf of all the teens at Faith.
Faith in Action |Community Service Partnerships
FLY loves to put their faith into action. FLY partners with different organizations throughout the community during the year to help be the hands and feet of Christ to those around them. From helping cook a meal for PADS to stuffing bags with Feed My Starving Children to volunteering at the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, FLY continues to look for new opportunities to serve the community around them.
Summer Service Trips
Over the years Faith has begun a three year rotation when planning the youth mission trips: ELCA Youth Gathering, international mission trip, and a national mission trip. Each trip is selected to help students step out of their comfort zone, meet God in new ways, open their eyes to the injustices in the world around them, and to help put their faith into action. FLY students also have the opportunity to apply to be a part of our Service Trip Student Leadership Teams.
