We have a rich tradition of different trip opportunities for our Middle School and High School students. Check out some of the trips we offer yearly!
Winter Retreat (Confirmation and FLY)
During Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend, Confirmation and FLY students have the opportunity to attend our Winter Retreat! The students will head up to Wisconsin for a time of fellowship, games, activities, discussions about different aspects of their faith, and a chance to connect with God's creation. Students grow in their faith, learn more about God's love for them, and help build an intentional community that comes back with them after the trip.
Summer Mission and Service Trips (Confirmation and FLY)
Faith offers two summer mission and service trip opportunities every year!
Confirmation and FLY have an opportunity to serve within the Midwest through a mission and service trip. We partner with different mission trip organizations to partner with already existing organizations and serve the people of that community. Our goal is to show others the love of God by helping with whatever is needed in that community. It can vary from yard work, to painting, to helping at food pantries, homeless shelters, and others; we listen to the needs of the community to see how we can best serve.
FLY has another opportunity every summer to go on a service trip specific to high school students. FLY follows a three year cycle with a further away domestic trip, international trip, and the ELCA Youth Gathering. FLY has gone to places like Alaska, West Virginia, Puerto Rico, Haiti and others. We go with organizations that are focused on mission trips throughout the summer with a value of listening to community partners and serving where is best needed for the community, with a hope of learning more about God in the process. Students learn what it means to be a servant leader and see how God is at work in the world.
During these trips students will serve others, learn more about God, participate in fun activities, get to know the community they are serving, and build lifelong friendships and memories. Each trip is a leap of faith, helping our students (and parents!) get out of their comfort zones so that they can lean on God more.
