Lenten Learning

Lent Faith Formation for adults on Wednesday evenings.
Check out this year's great classes

Formally known as Growing U, we are excited to offer some interesting and interactive classes for adults during this Lenten season.
Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-8:30pm immediately following Holden Evening Prayer.

February 21--Redefining Generosity: What to give here and abroad
    (Teacher: Emily Gorz)
So much of what we think ‘poor people’ want isn’t actually what is needed. What happens when our help actually hurts those we want to serve? We will discuss how we help people effectively here and abroad in a way that is respectful and acknowledges the dignity of others.

February 28— 10 Tips to a Happier, Healthier YOU
(Teachers: Arlene Bettin, Nicole Bettin, Laura Yudys)
Come join us and hear from three health and wellness experts on ways to nourish and care for your body, mind, and spirit. Allow us to share ways to care for the gifts God has given you, so that you may then share those gifts with others.

March 7--Talk to God. Who me?!
    (Teachers: Tom Pfaff, Jane Stroh)
There are many ways to pray and there are many ways to read scripture. All of them are okay with God! If you would like to build on your skills in reading scripture in a prayerful way, join us for an exploration of the ancient practice of Lectio Divina.

March 14--Does God Want Your Money?
    (Teacher: Joe Parratore)
Yes, no...well kinda. With the growth of online shopping and companies like Amazon things can be delivered to our doorstep with the click of the mouse. But with all that instant spending how does church fit into our pocket books? Come and engage in some fun activities where we explore how God helps guide our financial decisions and how we can find ways to support Faith in our own way.

March 21— Finding Words to Pray
    (Teacher: Beth Nyland)
The bible tells us to pray without ceasing. But first we have to get started. If your prayer life is suffering a bout of
“I don’t know what to say,” this workshop is for you. Through creativity and collaboration, you’ll see how prayer can grow from an idea, a sound, an image, a feeling, or a conversation—a fun, simple start to holding up your end of the
    conversation with God.

Sign up for one or many! come to discuss interesting topics or meet some new people!
